6:15 AM, New Jersey, 42 degrees F;
The sharp bite of the cold morning air,
the smell of leather jacket and gloves,
the reluctant cough and rumble to life,
the reassuring whir of the Smiths heater fan,
the steady cadence of the engine's beat,
the echo of the exhaust note,
the occasional burble of deceleration,
the roar of the wind,
the slight flap of the half open tonneau,
the errant looks and disbelief of the other commuters,
the greying of the blackened sky,
one last run through the gears,
the arrival at work, coming much too soon.
Sorry for the bandwidth, but I just had to share a wonderful morning drive
to work.
