Lawrence,
I had a similar problem with some TR6 axle shafts I ordered from an
'unmentioned' supplier of used parts. The problem is not only are they
staked, but the cap dia is different from the cir-clip variety. It would
be possible to re machine the bores and machine the groves in, but I
couldn’t find a machine shop willing, and probably if I could have it would
have cost me more than replacements, which I had to purchase again, this
time from a more reputable supplier. You can still buy new from Rimmer
Bros, but I haven’t been able to locate any used ones from anybody - let me
know if you find any used replacements for the Stag, I would like to get
some myself. And if you replace these would it be possible to get the old
staked ones from you? I want to check something out. (another project)
