headlights

My TR6 has standard sealed beam headlights, that really do not provide
good illumination.  I've become used to Halogen in my other car, and would
like to upgrade my 6 to something similar.

Will the TR6 charging system take Halogen or other headlamps?  

Any recommendations as to the best lights (type and wattage) to use for
better illumination?
