Greetings all,
I am in the middle of rebuilding the front end on my TR3B, and I have an
interesting idea.
I bought a brand new set of Spax shocks for my TR250, and I never put
them on. As I was happily taking the shocks off the '3B, I remembered
them sitting on the shelf.
The TRF tag says they fit TR4 - TR6, not TR3. A closer look showed the
shock body is the same as the Armstrong shocks I took off, and the upper
limit travel is the same. The lower limit travel is prohibited by a big
rubber bush on the shaft of the shock.
It _looks_ like the shock will work on the TR3 if the bush is removed.
Unfortunately, the only way the rubber bush will come off is to cut it.
I have no way of knowing if the shock will have the travel inside the
cylinder without the bush in place.
Deos anybody have any idea if the Spax shock I have for the TR250 will
work without the bushing on a TR3?
Thanks.
