UNLEADED PETROL INJECTION Brethren, This question will be of more interest to our UK & European friends. With the progressive global withdrawal of leaded petrol availability, can someone tell me what is the latest thinking on the effect of unleaded fuel on PI shuttle pumps and metering distributors - close tolerance components which, I understand, were designed to use the Pb content of the petrol for lubrication? Is an upper cylinder lubricant - added to the fuel tank, not metered - recommended, or is there a wonder drug on the horizon? Hoping I can remain at 106 psi, Max Blyton 1968 TR5 PI O/D (original owner) AUSTRALIA max.blyton@airservices.gov.au Fax: +61 2 6268 5950 |
