Fred;

I wondered about a lot of things regarding that kit, along with the one for
my Crane ignition module. During my hasty exit (rescuing my car parts and
tools in the final move out after a nasty divorce) I managed to loose the
installation instructions for the spin on adapter and the Crane unit.
Fortunately, I had already installed the Crane unit but I ended up doing the
spin on adapter the hard way. Well, let me be honest here.......being a manly
man I wouldn't have read the instructions even if I did have them. The
results were predictable. As I stood there in the garage admiring my
handiwork, smug in the knowledge that I would never have to drip oil all over
the floor while trying to remove the filter cartridge, I noticed the growing
golden circle of clean oil spreading out from under the GT6! Talk about a
leak!!!! Well, second time is a charm......with two gaskets in place the leak
stopped and I was content.....until a few weeks ago I was cleaning off the
work bench and found the little O-ring that's supposed to seal the inside of
the adapter to the block! Penn State's defnitely gonna revoke my engineering
diploma.

As I recall there was a comment in the instruction sheet explaining what the
two gaskets were for and it had to do with using one in one situation and the
other in another......but it didn't say you have to use both of them. Having
said that someone on the list is going to know exactly how this thing is
supposed to be installed and add to my embarassment. Oh, well I have no
pride....after all I bought two GT6+ in the same lifetime! :-) And I'd buy a
third one.
