Subject: Where do I get Paint

Silly me, I thought I could go marching down to my local auto paint
supplier with paint code in hand, and get Inca Yellow #94 that would
match my car and repaint the red bonnet.

El-wrongo! Oh, they have paint chips identified as that collor, and a
long as I like the color brown, I would be quite happy. But I guess I'm
picky, and really do want something that looks yellow instead. This
wasn't an isolated occurence. Much to my dismay, I am finding it
difficult to find Inca yellow.

So, any suggestions on where to go to get properly tinted Triumph #94
Inca yellow paint?

Nolan,

  Call PPG color library at 216-572-2800 (Ext 100 or 800 I don;t
remember which) and tell them the year, make of car and color that you
are looking for. In about one minute, they will give you the modern day
colors that most closely resemble the old triumph color you are
searching for. Next you go down to your trusty autoparts store and get
touchup cans and if you are satisfied with the shade bring them to your
body shop or autopaint supplier and they will match it.

PPG bought Dockers or ICI (the paint suppiers to Triumph back in the
50's-60's & 70's) a number of years ago which is why they have access to
the original color codes. Anyways they are most helpfull and you should
be able to get the original match.
I will warn you however that some of those original Triumph colors are
not as the name may suggest.....take seabring white for example, which
is not a white at all but a pale blue!

goodluck
