While installing the Moss TR6 door lock mounting kit this weekend (which
is by the way, a very great improvement over the original spring clips)
I noticed that my doors have springs under the window handles only.
Unlike the catalogs from all of the big 3 which illustrate springs under
both the window handles _and_ the door handles. Looking at the insides
of the door panels (original) there are very obvious spring marks only
around the holes for the window handles and no marks at all around the
dorr handle holes ndicating the car never had any springs under the door
handles. Anyone else notice this on their TR6s? I wonder if it's a late
car trait only?
The Moss door lock kits are very good, although pricy at $20. The kits
include two large washers, two large C-washers, two plastic trim
washers, four set screws to hold it all together and instructions. They
are made in the old country though and will make the locks much more
sturdy (my reason for buying the kits) as well as easy to remove later
should the need arise. Plus I get to keep using my original keys.
