Jim,
Several of us have had the same problem. A solution was found, via Dave H.,
of TRF. In the passenger side of the engine compartment, down on the frame,
is the distribution manifold for the brake system. On the top of the "tee"
manifold is the compensator. Open it up, pull out the piston, washer,
spring assy. Remove the spring, and replace the plunger/washer assy. If
that doesn't fix your TR3 front brakes, then look at the calipers. This is
all it took to keep me from torching my fingers each time I checked the
front rotors for caliper sticking.
I didn't have all the details at the time and took the whole assembly out.
That works too, but I will put the innards (less the spring) back in soon.
Remember to plug the brake line, from the master cyliner. It will want to
drain.
