David:

I know it's a little late for this, but I've got to know. Were you using a
flare nut wrench or a standard open-end wrench? I have had plenty of
similar troubles with these in all kinds of cars using the standard end
wrench. But, I can't think of a time that I couldn't bust it loose with
the proper flare nut wrench. At this point you've already rounded it all
off, so drastic measures will have to be taken to remove it from the
cylinder, and I don't have any suggestions for this. But, in the future,
use a flare nut wrench... any brake fitting on any car is made of material
(brass?) that is just too soft. The flare nut wrench is like a six point
box end wrench, but has a slot to slip over the brake pipe. Even with the
slot, it still grips with all six points on the hexagon. Hope this helps
for next time!
