Chris, I posted this same question last week. Nobody could give me
any info about the 1975 bumper design, so I went ahead anyway with my
     installation.

On my 1975 TR-6 there are braces (2) which run from the bottom of the
license plate frame to brackets on the front frame crossmember. These
brackets are mounted onto the frame right where the factory placed the
     oil cooler.

The braces and brackets were placed there (along with the rubber
bumper overriders) to satisfy the U.S. government bumper standard.

Remove the radiator shroud. It's cardboard and comes right out with a
     little fiddling.

I removed the braces and brackets, and determined that my bumper and
license plate were still secure. Unless you do much parrallel
parking, (or drive by touch) your bumper should be fine.

Anyway, after I removed the brackets there were partial holes on the
frame where the oil cooler mounts. The holes were not completely
through the frame, and I had to drill down through the frame. After
that the oil cooler went right on. I think I used a 5/16 drill bit.
Make sure the bit is sharp. (Black and Decker Bullet point bits are
     excellent).

One word of advice. My kit came with different size rubber mounting
gaskets for the oil filter adapter. The instructions suggested trial
mounting with the small center gasket first. I used the thicker
(thicker is better, right???) gasket because I was in a rush. I wound
up with a leak and had to redo this part of the job.

Rout the hoses away from anything that might puncture them, and you're
     done. Replace the radiator shroud.

By the way, my oil pressure is now much better.

     Hope this helps you.

     SEE YOU ON THE ROAD!
