Need some help with a restoration question.
I have broken down the steering column assembly in my TR250 and am getting
all correct with it before I put it back in a box to await the rest of the
car.
I have disassemble the whole thing, basically two pieces with the rubber
connector between them, and the outer cover assembly over the uppermost
section.
I have painted the lower rod assembly black, (using my TR6 as a guide)
however I am unsure whether or not to paint the upper rod assembly.
The upper rod assembly, pokes through the bulkhead, has a piece bolted to it
to keep you from pulling the whole thing back out the hole, then attaches to
the rubber connector.
Question is, should this rod be painted also. I can't tell from my 6 as it
is all oversprayed with the color of the car. The rod I took out of my 250
doesn't appear to be, but that car was buggered about on at least a few times
before I got it.
Can anyone tell me??
Thanks,
