Help !!

The adjustment bolt, through the bottom of the distributor is stripped,
and does not show progress in either direction. It appears that the
square nut may have a thread coming out of it, and that is in part
causing part of the problem. I've tried WD40. No change. I've tried
holding a screwdriver between the nut and the clamp to *encourage* it.
No luck there either.

Any thoughts ?

On a separate note, I've done: plugs, points, dizzy cap, plug wires,
condenser, rotor, diaphragm for carb. Now my voltage gauge is real slow
to climb to proper voltage. Is there a shortcut to figure out what it
could be, or am I looking at eliminating the *improvements* one at at
time ?

Thanks in advance for the advice :-))
