Peter asks:
"1. What can I do to the suds and nuts to facilitate easier removal in
the future?.. is regular anti-sieze compound ok? "

I'd use anti-sieze goop.

"2. .. Will it ruin the gasket if I change the studs and nuts a short time
(month or so) after initially
doing it all up with a fresh gasket? "

If it seals and the studs are OK, why change them? If you take things
apart, put in a new gasket; they don't cost much. Be forewarned that trying
to remove the studs from the manifold will almost certainly break them,
unless you are handy with a torch.
