I was flicking through my workshop manual last night and cam across a
comment on the rear brake set up that started me wondering. It said that
"the rear cylinders are of the sliding type, acting on both shoes". I know
that the cylinder slots into a cut out in the back plate that is much
larger than the cylinder from north to south and that you locate the
cylinder then push it down to the bottom of the slot. My question is how
much does the cylinder slide up and down in operation?? Does movement
effect the brake pipe and should provision be made for the pipe moving??
Should I lubricate the area where the groove in the cylinder locates in the
back plate??? Oh my God iseverything going to be alright!!! Will I have to
start my restoration again!!!! Help Help
