64-70 Spitfire compatability

A friend has a 64 Spit with major corrosion problems (and dual SU setup!-which
he won't part with:( 
We have found a 70-model 85% complete in a junk yard (in Ark. they are still
called junk yards<g>) My question to the roundtailed spit guys is this:
How much of the body/running gear is compatible between 64 and 70? He can buy
the body shell from the yard, but not the whole carcass-some weird Ark. law.
Any suggestions or hints would be appreciated.  Rick Stieg '75 Spit-wet
