Try running down the road without the filter at all and see what happens. If
it acts
air starved again then you've got to readjust the carb because the stock system
is
being highly restrictive and "tuning" your carb. Hopefully this is not the
case
though.
Next step would be to go as piece by piece as you can to determine if it's the
filter
eliment itself or the housing that is causing problems. Sorry, I don't know at
all
what the K&N filter/system looks like.
Last thing is oil. If you use the wrong oil (like engine oil) you can royally
screw up
a K&N filter and strangle the engine. Seen that on motorcycles before.
