According to John Thomason in "Triumph Spitfire and GT6" (an excellent book
by the way), the following colours were available in 1972:
Pimento Red, White, Sapphire Blue, Saffron Yellow, Damson, Sienna
Brown,Emerald Green (all from Jan 72), Carmine red, White, Pimento Red,
Sienna Brown, Emerald Green, Mallard Green, French Blue & Sapphire Blue
(from Sep 72) .
John's book also gives details of the correct trim colours
