Zach,
I'm in the process of preping my Herald for running autocross aka
Gymkhana, so I may be able to help out. You can mail me privately if you
like.
Probally the most important thing on a swing axle car is some sort of
camber compensator or limiter straps to keep the rear axles from jacking
up and fliping you on your head. I just made one for my car and would be
happy to pass along the instructions I got from Rocky Entriken (he
writes an Auto-X column for SCCA's SportsCar magazine).
Other than that you should look at the website put together by our kind
and benevolent master of all things computer and Triumph, Mark Bradakis
aka MJB at <http://www.team.net/> He's got lots of tips and descriptions
for preparing Spitfires to share.
One word of warning though, RACING IS ADDICTIVE!!!!!
Cheers,
John Matthews
