I didn't respond to the post earlier, because I thought someone would respond
with an exact value. Since they didn't, I thought maybe my best guess, based
on actually moving one around, might be worth while.
Two people can move it, but it is heavy. I would guess, based on my puny
strength, that it weighs around 250 - 300 pounds. I don't think you will have
any problem hanging it from the rafters, especially if you distribute the
weight over 4 separate rafters, two at the front, and two at the rear.
FWIW, I am in the process of building a platform to hold the body of mine
while I work on the chassis. I will place the legs where my wife can drive
her car in under the platform (hood only), and set the body on top. The
platform will run crossways to the garage. That way, I can pull her car out
and do some work on the TR6 body, and then bring hers back in when finished.
