Spit,mk3 dash finish and other ?

Hello,

I have a 1969 Spit mk3 that is in various stages or restoration. The dash is
vinyle covered now (by the previous owner). I would like to take off the
vinyle or replace the dash with wood and finish it with a semigloss finish.
If originally the dash was vinyle then I will stick with that. comment? 

I understand that the radiator fan are supposed to be yellow?
Lastly, is the wiper motor for this year supposed to be silver? I have seen
them silver on later years.
