The May issue of Thoroughbred and Classic Cars (just arrived in the US)
has a supplement where the editors select and test the 20 best brit
sports cars of all time. They tried 5 cars from each decade of the '50s
'60s '70s and '80s. Triumphs selected were TR3A, TR5, TR7 and Spitfire
1500. The whole thing was very subjective and we could go on for days
about why a TR7 instead of an 8, why not a TR6 etc etc..
Anyway, the TR3 was selected as the 3rd best of all time ahead of the
Lotus/Caterham Super 7 and behind a TVR with the Jag XKE as the best
of all time (no surprise there). The TR3 looked the most well used of all
the cars tested as well.
