Kevin,
After I did my initial break in of 500 miles, I tightened down the head, 
reset the rockers, and changed the oil.  Hope that helps your tapping 
noise, I haven't had that problem, thank you very much.  Jane

After the break-in on my new 250 motor. I can hear a loud tapping noise
from the carbs. Is this the valves making the noise? Do I need to retorque 
the
cylinder head and readjust the valves? What is the normal(if any) procedure
after a motor break-in?
