Noble Scions,,
With all the foul weather you folks have been experiencing in the
Northeast I ALMOST feel guilty about this post...
The weather up til today has been pretty nice... I've finally
gotten the fuel system straightened out and have been out enjoying
The Green Man...
For those of you who contributed suggestions for getting things
put together Fuel pump-wise, Thanks again. The final set-up is as
follows: From The tank (which I cleaned and coated) 5/16" steel tube
to a very large Fram fuel filter, Steel tube to a Walbro Reciprocating
fuel pump. From there steel tube to the driver's side engine bay.
A compression fitting to a female 3/8" NPT adapter, 3/8" NPT-6AN
Aireqip adapter. I used airequip 6AN hose with appropriate
fittings and ran it across the back of the engine bay to a Holley
Pressure regulator (dialed down to 2lbs PSI). From the regulator
I adapted the line to 4AN hose and connected to the carbs with
1/4"- 1/8" NPT compression adapters. It hooked right up with not
a whole lot of effort (other than trial and error as to which fitting
should go where). Time will tell if it holds together without a
lot of fuss.
In retrospect, I should have bought stock in the company that
produces steel brake pipe... Ah well, NOW I know how to lay out
and bend the stuff... What REALLY helped was a trip to the art
supply store where I bought aluminum sculpter's armature wire.
It has a larger O.D. and is kind of like brake pipe. I used it to
make patterns for the tubing...
Thanks all...
