I got a little behind on the list, but I don't think anyone has
mentioned this yet...
Last Friday (March 14) SpeedVision showed at least 1/2 hour, maybe an
hour of the 1965? Alpine rally. The show was 'Historic blah blah'.
Prominently featured was the Triumph team with 3 hardtop Spitfires.
There was also film of at least one 2000.
Quality pictures of the Triumphs and amazing vintage rally footage. In
one scene a Spitfire misses a turn at a sideroad right in the rain and
fog. The car slides to a stop, backs up and the driver rolls his window
down, exchanges a couple of lighthearted words with the cameraman and
motors off. He doesn't even spin the tires!
Also, amazing...at the end of a timed stage, the navigator jumps out,
looking natty in sweater vest and slacks, runs the scorecard over and
punches his own time on a time clock. Try that with a cage and a
five-point harness.
Keep an eye out, it may be on again.
