Converting to RHD would not be too difficult. The
earlier the car the easier it is. All TRs were
designed to be assembled as LHD or RHD. The main
difference will be the steering rack for a Spit.
You would also have to re-plumb the brake and clutch
masters. The wiring harness "may" work with little
modification. Probably also a different throttle
cable and possibly choke cable as well. It is
perfectly legal to have RHD in the US (look at all the
mail trucks!) and IMHO "tres kewl".
Since (depending on model) upwards of 85% of TR production
went to the US, it would be much easier to convert a
nice low-rust US spec car than try and find a home market
car.
Both John Kipping and Rimmer Bros. would have all you need.
