List--
I have read stories of inspiration, perspiration and fustration involving
travels to shows in LBC's on this thread. Most got around to a pleasant
memory out of a bad experience. Lucas seems a common theme.
I recently traded my tow vehicle (1994 Jeep Cherokee) to the dealer and
ordered a new Grand Cherokee with a color combination they had never built,
but English in origin (black with tan leather). The problem: I had to give
them my Jeep before my "new" Jeep arrived!
Looking to my alternatives, I decided to drive my 1969 Jaguar E-Type on a
daily basis. It is a low milage coupe with everything working. While I have
driven it selectively over the past several years, I have never driven it on
a daily basisor long distances. For all you "keep it new" types like me,
consider driving you cars more often. I drive quite a few miles in my job,
but limit the E-Type to 100 mile days. I have enjoyed the car more in the
past several weeks than any other time I have owned it, including wins at
JNCA shows.
In my experience, there are racers, drivers, and showers in our group. I have
previously been a shower, but have enjoyed the driver catagory over the past
several weeks. Occasionally, I have become a racer when a Camero or like car
offered the opportunity.
That is my road story and have no Lucas reports to include as yet...
