Sounds to me like someone has hooked up the wires at the switch wrong
LEFT@ \ @RIGHT LEFT@ / @RIGHT
\ /
\ /
@POWER @POWER
Above example correct
LEFT@ / @POWER
/
/
@Right this example would never allow the left to get
power
POWER@ @RIGHT
\
\
\
@LEFT And vise versa this would never light the right
side
Might be? One never knows about the power of the DPO
