I've built, setup and rebuilt a lot of engines. ANY amount over/under the
manufactures specification is cause for concern. That's the reason the
manufactures list tolerances in the first place. Those figures aren't just
guidlines, they are the absolute min. and max. conditions allowed. These
are the design intents and limits for that particular engine or assy. and
are not to be re-adjusted for wear- And the tolerance isn't there just for
new assy. it the total amount new/used/rebuilt/worn, period. A tolerence is
a paticular range of dimensions that that paticular part or assy is designed
to be used without part/assy failure. You go outside those limit's and your
asking for failure.
