For anybody that wants the true technoid details on hardware strength,
stretch, torque try Carrol Smith's "Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing
Handbook". Quite readable and with some interesting stories re
counterfeit hardware - enough to give you second thoughts the next time
you step on an airplane ('just where does Super Deep Discount Airlines
get there replacement main spar attachment bolts anyway???')
from the frozen north (I see by the paper we just had the coldest three
month on record).
