The best way is to install a dual master cylinder. You could install two
singles, but
that's rather expensive and difficult. ALthough it gives you neat balancing
capabilities.

I've been inside the pdwa valve. It will not block off the other side. The
chamber is
roughly 3/8", and the piston only about 1/4 inch. The fluid flows right around
the
piston. All this device is for is detecting a problem and triggering a light.
A
pressure imbalance will move the piston over. The turned down area is pretty
large
because you've got a disc drum combination. Drum brakes take a fair bit of
fluid before
they actuate, meanwhile the front disc circuit is already building pressure.

It's also not a proportioning valve. It doesn't do any balancing of front to
rear
pressures.

The theory of a dual piston master cylinder is that if one circuit fails, the
other will
work independently. That said, I've had lousy experiences with the results.
Fail
anything, and the pedal drops (or in one case got sucked) to the floor. Love
them
handbrakes and clutchs! Downshift, yank the lever, pray to god this thing is
going to
stop. <g>
