I just picked up my 64-4 motor from being rebuilt and I was talking to
the shop owner and he showed me a race engine they were rebuilding--hot
cam, forged crank, very impressive looking and it had 89mm
piston/liners.
He told me they did not have the long term durability of the smaller
pistons/liners as the skirts on the liners were thinner and over time
would crack. He did not recommend them for street use because of the
durability. The name of the shop is British Car Service, Symrna
Ga(Atlanta) and his name is Barry Rosenburg. If anyone's interested, let
me know and I'll post the phone number...he has no email.
