Hi Barry
Sorry for the delay in reply to your posting, but I am on the digest and only
downloaded last night.
I fitted an oil pressure gauge to my 1966 Spitfire Mk2, but as I didn't want
the possibility of oil leaking from the back of the gauge, I fitted an
electrical unit which matched the instrument panel gauges. I bought this from a
company in the UK called Holden Vintage and Classic Ltd, Linton Trading Estate,
Bromyard, Herefordshire HR7 4QT, England. They have an illustrated catalog for
4 pounds sterling, probably about 7$US at current rates.

As for the fitting, I am not sure of the interior layout of the 1974 Spitfire,
but FWIW, I made a walnut subpanel to match the main panel and fitted it where
the radio normally goes. The fitting of the pressure transducer to the block
was straightforward as the 'T' or 'Y' fittings were readily available to allow
you to fit it and the oil lamp switch. Mine looks a bit like a Christmas tree
as I also run a supplementary oil feed to rockers via the head.
Hope this helps. BTW, I have no interest in Holden, just a satisfied customer.
