Well, all I did was throw a cough drop down the carburetor and she quit
spitting at me. Okay, bad joke.
The problem was that I forgot that I had replaced the head gasket
recently and had driven her only once before I started the carb rebuild.
So, the valves were out of adjustment enough to leave at least one
valve open while firing.
I thank you guys very much for all of the advice. I just wish I would
have remembered the above. It sure would have saved some time and
work.
Regardless, I learned a bit about how carburetors work by reading your
comments (SU and weber).
