Gary,
Hm. I doubt the electronic igntion would have much to do with it,
but my elec igntion is an XR700 (Crane), and has an optical pickup, so I
don't have that much expierence with magnetic ones. As long as it's set up
correctly, there shouldn't be any probs. Check the carbs (the little
suckers on mine are driving me nuts...). Make sure the float level is
right, the dampers have oil, and that fuel is getting to them okay. Which
brings me to the next one. Check to make sure the fuel pump is operating
correctly. On my GT6, do this my disconnecting one of the fuel lines into
the carb, and have someone crank the car. Take the wire from your igntion
coil out, and set it far aside so the car doesn't start on one carb and far
aside so there is _no chance_ it could get to the gas. When the car is
cranked, there should be a splurt of gas on every second revolution.
Remeber, this is for my GT6, but I doubt there would be much difference. If
that is correct, go ahead and hit the igntion system. There should be spark
to each plug and your timing should be correct. If you need more help with
this, feel free to e-mail me. Also, to others on the list, if I've said
something wrong here (which I'm sure I have), please e-mail me so I don't
do it again.

Hope this helps and good luck!
