I'm considering welding up 4' x 8' modules for a boat dock. Foam comes in big chunks! My neighbor tells me that the best approach is to have the assembly hot dip galvanized after the welding is done. Word is that there are many places that can handle this throughout the country. I haven't researched this yet, but it might be an idea to try local welding fabricators or boat dock builders.
