Like Jamie said, any local plater will be able to do it. Be sure to
specify "show" quality. It could cost about 10% more but the thickness of
chrome and the underlying treatments will be greater and will withstand
more heat and use.

I had an estimate of $120 for my '3 cover from 2 different sources in
Tampa. Also, if you are thinking about other chroming, you might ask
about the cost if you have more to be done. 1 place said it didn't make a
difference, but the other said he would knock off a little if my total was
over 200. (didn't pin him down and he might say something different when
I go back in the spring with the cover and couple other things.) But it
is worth a shot...

Robb,

I've seen many "show" Stags with chromed covers; the '68 TR-250 and I
think some early '69 TR-6's came with one stock. Your local plater
should be able to do this for you; chroming steel is not that difficult.
They'll need the covers for a while; you'll make friends if they're
clean already, but you don't need to remove the paint. Standard chrome
plating should be all you need to stand up to valve cover temperatures.

Let us know how it goes if you decide to do it!

Jamie
