What you feel with the clutch is common for a TR6. Most of them have a
trigger for a clutch and this has been a complaint from the beginning with
the cars. Just get used to it. On the other hand, you may have a broken
Pin. This is the pin that secures the release fork to the cross-shaft in
the bellhousing. The only way to find out is to pull the gearbox out and
check it. While you've got it apart you might as well replace the clutch
and related components, including The Pin. If you don't, it will break when
you move the car out of the garage the first time. Guaranteed.
As for the noisy gearbox, it may be the bearings are getting tired. Not
uncommon either.
