************** original post ****************
I've seen this car at a car lot for the past month, at least. As I pass it
on Sunday afternoon, I've not had an opportunity to drive it, but here's the
poop for interested folks.
It's a '74 TR-6, paint is *superb* maroon (does not appear to have been
recently painted, nor is there *any* evidence of accident damage causing a
new paint job). Has all the usual TR-6 decals, etc. Tires seem to be a
very good shape (Redlines if memory serves). Will need a new top fairly
soon. Non-OD. The clock says 17497 miles. The interior still smells new,
and is *immaculate*. The car is registered in Virginia until May 97. The
lot is asking $6495. My guess as to why it hasn't sold (no idea how
realistic the price is) is that the city where it's located, Danville VA, is
not a Triumph kinda town. More like a pickemup kinda town. No aspersions
to Danville intended. The car hasn't moved in the last month, as near as I
can tell. So the lubricant levels must all be at zero, as there are no oil
spots under the car :-).
The dealer is P&J Auto Sales. I believe that the area code is 540. The
phone numbers are:792-2277, or 822-0977 evenings.
If anyone wants me to check anything about the car (short of talking to the
dealer, as I always pass well after hours), let me know.
