Hellos advisors,

When the seat belt reel springs are new, shouldn't the belt be tight from the
anchor point on the "B" post, across the wheel arch, through the swivel bracket,
and on into the reel? My belts fit this description except about 18" which
won't pull on into the reel. Both are like this so I wondered if the belts are
supposed to twist around something else to take up slack(can't imagine what).
Sounds like weak springs to me but thought I'd check with the experts.

If the springs are weak, has anyone changed these springs out? There are two
screws on each side of the reel which hold a cap on each end. I assume this cap
comes off but how hard is it to get the spring replaced? I removed a tractor
starter once and we still haven't found all the springs when I pulled it out.
The thing came apart like a grenade when I released the tension. So, I'm a
little careful about removing the cap off a spring loaded device..

Thanks in advance for your help.

Neil
