Hello Karl,
I've been running one of those oil feeds for 3 or 4 years on a TR-250, and
I hope to prolong the life of the rocker shaft with it. Mine went on fine,
there may be a rough spot on your head (!) that's not allowing the copper
washer to seat. If I recall, that's a `banjo' fitting with a hollow bolt
that attaches the line to the head, so it won't stand much torque--less
than a spark plug, in my estimation, so make sure the sealing faces are
flawless before your next go at it. These same `banjo' fittings are fairly
common on English motorcycles, too, also for feeding oil to the rocker boxes
and sometimes they just fatigue and crack due to vibration or heat cycles,
which I guess would be a bigger problem on air-cooled engines.
Problems aside, I like mine, like the whole idea, and I'm getting lots
more oil up there now than ever before.
Best regards,
Tom Tweed
