I received that mail from our club's web page (the Amicale Spitfire, French
Spitfire Club, http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/spitfire)
As it's easy for me to answer in French but not in English, I repost it to you,
dear SOLers, please answer to him directly, I think he is not (yet) member of
the list...

Subject: obtaining spitfire parts

Dear Francois- I live in the western United States and am currently
considering buying a 1973 Spitfire. I am not wealthy and I am wondering
how expensive maintainance and parts are for a Spitfire. I am not a
mechanic and would need to find a foriegn specialist to do any
mechanical work. The car I am thinking about buying appears to be in
good condition and runs well. The sellers want $2,500 for it. Is that a
reasonable price? Any responce would be appreciated.
