Subject: A 'new' MGA, 1960
First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Sonny from Northern
California, and have a new addiction to these things called British cars
(LBCs?). A former friend of mine owed me a few dollars and I wound up with a
Jensen Interceptor III (71') and a Sunbeam Alpine (62') as payment, thus, my
adventure with British cars began (mid 1995).
Anyway, I've recently acquired a 1960 MGA which has not been run in about 5
years and was wondering how I should go about preparing the thing. I'm having
the generator and regulator rebuilt, new batteries and hoses put in, sparks
and oil of course. The original SUs were replaced by a single Weber. I have
the original SUs and intake. The engine also turns freely.
Any advice/impressions would be appreciated.
