Michael,
I tried all types and sizes on my 68. Ended up with 185x75R.13.
Usually run about 17 psi. Give a soft enough ride and allows for
expansion from road heat. You know how hot these Texas roads get.
Spec for 68 was 155x13.
The 185x75 looks good and handles well. Besides, not much else will fit
in wheel wells.
Still get some rubbing on firewall on tight turns.
Rear tires bump fender well on hard "bounce".
If I plan on tight curves and hard driving, I'll raise pressure to about
28 psi. Tire is wide enough to give good bite and handle well.
Oh, I have these tires on 8 inch alloy wheels which makes them a tad
shorter than if they were on the 5.5 in. wheels.
You may have to go to a 175.
Best Regards,
Tony
