I am puttign together the necessary 'pieces' of what TRF calls the 'Auto-
Ignition Vacuum Details' on my 74 1/2 Tr-6. According the the illustration
on the TRF TR-6 parts catalogue, volume 1, page 100/101, there are two vacuum
lines (item # 30 & 37) coming from the rear carb to a tee fitting then going
to the EGR valve. My carb does not have two vacuum ports, only one (on the
upper 'front'), my carb is the correct model ( C3613) for this year.
I have several photo's I took at Triumphfest last year of a supposed original
74 1/2 TR-6 and it only has a single vacuum line coming off the rear carb to
the EGR valve.
Anyone have any ideas as to what is correct? Is it possible that the 'true'
'74 model (comm # CF12500 - CF26999) is different than the 74 1/2 model (comm
# CF27000 - CF35000)? Were California cars different from the 49 state
models, or did they even have such a distinction back then?
Anyone have any idea what the 'fuel traps' in the vacuum lines are for and if
there are any problems if they are not fitted?
My car is a original California model, imported and sold in the San Francisco
area, according from the production certificate I obtained from the British
Motoring Heritage Trust.
Thanks.
