Joe, when a wire breaks internally (this is called "open" as opposed to
a "short") it is usually at a high stress area. The first thing to try
is cut off the end at the coil, go back 1/2 inch or so and crimp on a
new connector. If that doesn't help, look for other places where the
wire may be subject to sharp bends or pulling.
