Scott, Magnesium is lighter and stiffer than aluminium, but is subject in wheels to embrittlement and cracking. You should have the wheels magnaflux inspected to detect any tiny cracks. As to repairs, I have no experience/knowledge of successful mag wheel repairs, perhaps someone more knowledgeable can jump in here. Happy Holly Days!!
