This doesn't really prove anything, but I have seen special jumper
cables for use on newer cars with computers. They come apart in the
middle. You attach the two sections just like normal and then connect the
two pieces. It is supposed to minimize the shock to the system. I wonder
if it makes a difference if the EFI car that has the dead battery or if
it is doing the charging. I would think it might be worse for the EFI car
to GET the jump start, but who knows.
