re: TR6 clutch master re-build
In mid-summer I rebuilt the clutch master from my parts car
(my daily driver until someone rear-ended it) and put it in
my current car (to replace one that was leaking). Works fine.
This past weekend I rebuilt the leaky cylinder and put it
into the parts car (since pushing the car into the garage
and up the ramps is a little more than I care to take on).
After re-connecting the pedal to the plunger, I depressed the pedal
with my hand to see how it felt. Fine. But as I released the pedal
and started to drag myself out of the footwell, the cylinder
squirted a load of fluid right onto the top of my head (probably
via the vent hole in the rubber boot).
Question: does this mean that I bungled the rebuild (the first time
it was fine), or is some other part of the clutch mechanism "frozen."
Or has the car decided to "just say 'no'" to being a donor.
Any pointers greatly appreciated.
