sure  feels happy when I do, it runs more quietly, requires less 
choke time.   It is 100 octane low lead BTW."

FYI, I don't know if Unocal has gas stations in your area of the
country, but out here in California still sells 102 octane racing
fuel at a few select stations.  If Unocal operates any stations in
your area you should contact the local regional distributor and
ask for a list of the stations that carry it.  It's pretty cheap
relative to avgas (I think I last paid about $1.49 a gal.).  BTW,
I second the opinions of others on the list re: the effect of
octane and its relationship to price - if it ain't pinging your
wasting your money.
